"There are always people yelling. If there is silence, it is scary and it feels uncomfortable. At night, there’s dogs barking. There are so many different types of parks that at the end you don’t hear anything but yips and barks. Gunshots and sirens make up most of the sounds. It isn’t scary because you get used to it." |

"My neighborhood is quiet sometimes, but very loud at other times. It’s loud when there are fairs, parties or festivals. You can hear the loud music playing from either your neighborhood or the street. It mainly sounds busy. You can always hear the cars honking or dogs barking. There are car accidents and it’s loud because of the impact. It is also loud because of the police sirens. I live near a police station and fire station, so it’s often loud around me." |

"My neighborhood sounds like a park. There’s birds flying and building nests around my house. On the weekdays, it’s filled with children laughing and playing, because I live next to an elementary school. There are dogs barking. There are also police sirens going off at night. And the helicopters flying above my house and shaking my window. There are car alarms going off and the sound of a basketball hitting the floor repeatedly." |

“The neighborhood is quiet and most of the times you just hear cars. And you can hear people talk sometimes. You can hear the sound of people selling things or opening there stores. You here kids playing in the park or in the schools. Or people talking on their phones. You hear dogs barking and birds squawking.” |

“My neighborhood is always noisy. My neighbor has a parrot that has learned to yell my mom’s name, so he’s constantly yelling her name. You can hear my dad’s friend playing music every day. He plays hip-hop. You can also hear his dogs barking, he has huskies. You can hear my dad and his friends yelling, either because of basketball or football games. You can hear the honking of cars, sirens, and the music from the ice cream trucks. There’s a guy who comes in his truck and he’s always yelling whatever he’s selling that day. He’s usually selling bread out of his truck.” |

“My neighborhood is sometimes very loud because most of the people living on my street have dogs, so there is a lot of barking. Next door, the lady has a dog, I love dogs, but it barks every day. When we walk outside he barks, even when we hit something he barks. He is a pit bull. She also has smaller dogs, she has three. Also, they have chickens but it makes noise in the afternoon not in the morning.” |

“My neighborhood sounds like the ice-cream truck passing by and playing its’ songs. Also like little kids laughing in the background. It sounds like the radio playing Spanish and English stations at the same time, with cumbias and hip-hop songs. On the other hand there is a quiet and severely calm sounds, where you only hear the bees buzz and the crows caw, with faint barks from pit bulls and golden retrievers.” |
